Compassionate Communities

‘A compassionate community is a community that recognises that care for one another at times of crisis and loss is everyone’s responsibility and not solely professional health services duty.

We are a team of representatives from Keech Hospice Care, St. John’s Hospice, Public Health, Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and a GP.

We know that more people will be carers and many more people will be living with long term conditions in the coming years.

It is vital that as a community we come together to support each other and open up the conversation about our preferences and wishes at the end of life.

Through skills workshops to voluntary organisations, companies, schools and health and social care professionals we aspire to make conversation regarding death, dying, grief and loss more acceptable.
