Improve your IT skills

Are you looking for a job but find your IT skills are holding you back? You can achieve a recognised IT qualification to give you a head start.

Taken over 18 weeks, this course will cover a number of widely used computer packages to improve skills and confidence, including:

  • using the internet
  • email
  • staying safe online
  • word processing
  • spread-sheets
  • all the fundamental IT skills employers are looking for

An experienced tutor will cover the basics of computing and introduce leaners to the Microsoft Office packages. The course will be practical and hands on and you will ‘learn by doing’.

This course is provided for residents of Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough aged 19 or over.

It is free to those who are unemployed, claiming either Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance or Universal Credit (Job Centre Plus eligible groups).

The course runs every Thursday morning, from 9:30am to midday. It begins on Thursday, 21 September 2017 and finishes on Thursday, 8 February, 2018.

It is held in the Adult Education Classroom, located inside the leisure centre on Stratton Upper School Site, Eagle Farm Road, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 8JB.
