What are Let’s Talk Together meetings?

Let’s Talk Together meetings give members of the community and local groups the opportunity to meet and talk  with Councillors, and representatives from key organisations such as police, health, education, community safety, environment, business and volunteering to name but a few.

They are an opportunity for us to work together to make both Central Bedfordshire and our local communities a really great place to live and work, as well as enabling us to agree the policing and community safety priorities for your area, building on and incorporating the already successful Community Safety Forums.

Why not take a look at what we’ve been talking about – click on an area down the left hand side of this page.

There are seven Local Policing Team Areas in Central Bedfordshire Together; and there will be one meeting in each area approximately every three months, to reach as many people as possible.  Details of the next meetings will be published soon.

All of the meetings start at 7pm and finish at 9pm.

What happens at a Let’s Talk Together meeting?

Market stalls

This is where you can discuss your issues with relevant representatives from the key organisations.  This part of the meeting will last for 30-45 minutes.

Discussion and Feedback

This is the more formalised part of the meeting, and will be chaired by an elected Member of Central Bedfordshire Council.  The Chair will sum up the key issues raised at the market stalls.

This part of the meeting is where you can join in with the wider discussion on local issues, solutions and help decide on the community safety priorities to be tackled.

Its in this part of the meeting that the police will report the crime statistics for the area.  Key issues will be discussed, and progress against these will be fed back to the next meeting.  This part of the meeting will last for about 45 minutes

Keeping In Touch

We will keep in touch with you and continue the conversation between meetings by using social media, community groups and partner organisation websites.
