Second Armed Forces Community Covenant Workshop
Sports projects! Cultural events! Support and advice schemes!
These are just some of the suggestions from partners at a workshop on 20 May 2012 for projects that could be included in our partnership bid to the £30M Armed Forces Community Covenant (AFCC) grant scheme.
Partners included representatives from the Armed Forces, residents, schools and colleges, Central Bedfordshire Council, the Association of Town and Parish Councils, Voluntary and Community groups and Children’s Centres.
Potential funding ideas…
Partners heard representatives from the Armed Forces and the Royal British Legion talk about their perspective on the Covenant. Round table discussions were then held to discuss potential project funding ideas.
A second workshop to further develop some of the project ideas that were suggested will be hosted by the Stronger Communities Thematic Partnership on 16 July at Priory House, Chicksands from 1-4pm.
